Can the Signature 365 button be hidden from the Outlook ribbon?
Question
When composing a new email, the Signature 365 app is shown in the Outlook ribbon.
Answer
Signature 365 cannot control whether the Outlook ribbon button is shown or hidden. The Signature 365 Outlook add-in defines the button that Outlook displays, but Microsoft controls how add-in buttons are shown in each Outlook client.
This is controlled by Outlook and Microsoft 365 Apps management, not by Signature 365; the sections below detail how to configure these settings across different Outlook versions.
In classic Outlook, users can customise the ribbon manually. To do this:
- Open Outlook.
- Select File.
- Select Options.
- Select Customize Ribbon.
- Remove or hide the Signature 365 add-in command from the ribbon.
Administrators may be able to manage ribbon customisation for classic Outlook using Microsoft policy or through administrative GPO
In Outlook on the web, users may be able to customise which actions are shown in the message window.
This is managed by the user in Outlook on the web settings:
- Open Settings
- Go to Mail
- Select Customize actions
- Adjust the available message actions
These settings are user-specific and are controlled by Outlook on the web, not by Signature 365.
